Annual Dahms-Bierbaum Workshop
November 3 - 5 , 2017
"Developing Leaders and Improving Organizations"Have you ever wondered how your nonprofit organization could better serve its members or how your organizationís leaders could perform with more professionalism and efficiency? If so, the 2017 Dahms-Bierbaum Workshop is meant for you!
This interactive workshop will teach participants the importance of segregating the duties between officers, basic audit committee procedures for small organizations, and the distinction between an audit and a budget-finance committee. Participants will learn that budgeting is more than just numbers; they will learn that a budget is also a plan for running the organization based on available resources. Attendees will gain an understanding of the financial statements of a small association and learn how to build a budget. In this weekend workshop, the participants will also discover ways to adapt organizations to changing demographics by engaging millennials. In addition, the workshop will include event judging of youth contests in parliamentary procedure. Participants will solve problems often encountered in presiding fairly and efficiently over modern business meetings held by deliberative assemblies.
Additional InformationThe staff recommends that you bring Robertís Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR) and AIP Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure (AIPSC).
No books will be available for sale at the workshop. Please contact us if you need assistance in obtaining these books or other parliamentary materials.
The dress code for the workshop is "business casual."
